Last rites for Walter Timmsen, 85, were held at Wilton April 18 with the Rev. Paul Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert and Wayne Timmsen, Melvin and Delmar Hintze, Harold Meyer and Herbert Britcher.
Mr. Timmsen died at the Wilton Nursing home April 15.
The son of Louis Sr. and Amanda Jeske Timmsen, he was born in Scott county March 2, 1902. He was married to Anna Meyer at Wilton Feb. 18, 1931.
He was a carpenter by trade and worked in the Durant area. He was later employed by International Harvester, Rock Island, for 27 years, retiring in 1962. He was a member of Wilton United Methodist church.
He is survived by his wife, a son, James, Wilton; 2 daughters, Mrs. James (Edna Mary) Garner, El Cajon, Calif. and Mrs. Ronald (Leora) Allman, Phoenix, Ariz.; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis, Wilton and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Ethel) Fromme, Muscatine. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
