Dec 8, 1899

At 8 o'clock last evening at the residence of her mother Mrs. Nora Clifford 1036 West Third street, occurred the death of Miss Mary E. Clifford after an illness of but four months. The young lady was but 20 years and 5 months old at the time of her death.

She was a very charming young lady and had hosts of friends all over the city. She was born here and received her education at St. Marys' school here. Bright and intellectual, she was a favorite with all who knew her and early death has cast a gloom over the many homes of her young friends.

Deceased was a faithful Christian girl and was constant in her devotion to church and church work. She was a member of St. Mary's Young Ladies' Sodality. Her mother is the only member of her family surviving her.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning with services at St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock. Interment at St. Mary's cemetery.
