Funeral services for Edward Wulf, 49, and his son, Mark Alan, 14, rural Walcott, will be held at the Runge Mortuary in Davenport at 11 a.m. today May 5 with burial in Davenport Memorial park. They were killed when a pickup truck driven by Edward Wulf was struck by a Rock Island freight train about a mile west of Walcott about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The Wulf family lived in the Bennett school district last year.

Mark was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His father died in a Davenport hospital.

The truck was dragged about a half mile down the track by the freight train. The northbound truck did not stop at the unmarked intersection. The train was going about 40 miles per hour when it hit the truck.

Edward Wulf was born in Walcott and was married to Judith Ritz in Rock Island, Ill. in 1963. He had been employed for 25 years at the Russelloy Foundry, Durant. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Mark Wulf was born in Davenport and was a 7th grade student at Walcott junior high school.

Survivors include Mrs. Wulf, 5 daughters, Peggy Wulf, Palin View, Ill.; Maxine Range, Cottage Hills, Ill.; Debora and Kimberly, both of Bettendorf, and Melody, at home; a step-daughter, Cindy Fry, Morning Sun; sons, Michael and Criag, both of Davenport; a step-son, Lester Garrison, at home; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Wulf, New Liberty, Iowa, and Frieda Braet and Florence Pries, both of Davenport, and a brother, Elmer, Colorado.
