Last rites for Mrs. Mayme Burmeister, 87, were held at Davenport Sept. 3 with burial in Davenport Memorial park. Mrs. Burmeister died at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, Aug. 30, following a brief illness. Memorials may be made to the Heart fund.

Mayme Holt was born in Dixon and was married to Alvin Burmeister in Davenport in 1913. He died in 1971.

Mr. and Mrs. Burmeister farmed in Cedar and Scott counties, retiring in 1971.

She is survived by 6 daughters, Joyce Burmeister and Mrs. George (Helen) Paustian, both of Davenport; Mrs. Earl (Marilyn) Sievers, New Liberty; Reme (Verba) Claeys, Bettendorf; Mrs. Leland (Joan) Pruess, Clarence and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Risley, Charlotte, N.C.; 5 sons, LeRoy and Lyle, both of Davenport; Virgil, New Liberty; Dale, Muscatine and Don, Stockton; 38 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
