Shirley Anne Browner was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Eugene and Esther Schaubschlager on May 15, 1949.
Her arrival landed her somewhere in the middle of what would become 8 siblings. She learned from an early age how to share and care for others which would continue on for the remainder of her life. After high school, she wanted to travel and see the world so she joined the Air Force. Shortly after being stationed at Sheppard AFB as a medical service specialist, she met John Anthony Browner which inevitably changed her life path. Johnny and Shirley began dating after his persistence and persuasion, as she tells it and before long, they moved to Iowa where he was from. They married and welcomed their son, Brent Anthony Browner into the world. Shirley began a career in banking, working her way up from a teller into management. After retirement, she continued to keep herself busy by volunteering her time at schools and nursing homes, caring for others and she always looked forward to her family reunions in Wisconsin. Anyone who knew Shirley knows she had no problem making friends, she was outgoing, personable, funny and never forgot your birthday. She was blessed with beautiful friendships. Shirley was eager for grandkids and was thrilled to earn the title of ‘GiGi’ when Malia and Jett Browner were born. After losing Johnny in 2010, she spent the majority of her time in Las Vegas with Brent, Emily and her grandkids. On the morning of July 31, 2022 mom passed away peacefully, leaving us with a phrase that will always be remembered “be good to each other”.

She joins her husband John, parents Eugene and Esther, and sister Sandy Gasiorowski in heaven. She is survived by her only son Brent Browner, his wife, Emily Browner and their children Malia and Jett Browner. She also leaves behind her brothers David, Michael and Steven Schaubschlager; and sisters Brenda Kanive, Pamela Trcka and Rosie Oium. She touched the lives of many and her outgoing spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Rest In Peace GiGi, we love you.
