Obituary

Funeral services for Raymond Mack Williams, 87, of Davenport, will be 12:00 pm on Monday, August 1, 2022, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Il, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #26. Family will greet friends on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Raymond passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Care Center – Davenport, IA.

Raymond was born on September 25, 1934, in Tunica, Mississippi, the son of Mack and Louvenia Williams. He worked at International Harvester for 15 years. He enjoyed food and listening to the blues. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

Survivors include his daughter, Gaynelle (Bobby) Warren of Davenport, IA, son, Melvin (Valonda) Williams of Chicago, IL, grandchildren, Evon McNeal, Bruce Bibbs, Bobby Warren Jr, and Melvonne Williams, several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, sisters, Tebertha Summers of Toledo, Ohio, brothers, Prince Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, Lafayette Williams of Toledo, Ohio and Mack (Pecilla) Williams of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joe Williams, Delois Williams, Wiley Williams, Clyde Williams, sisters, Rosemary Cole, Lois Kennie, Dorothy Taylor, Maxine Johnson and Lorene Lesure.
