Jeanne Brown, 82, of Davenport, IA, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. A Memorial Service will follow starting at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com

Jeanne was born September 1, 1939, to Wilson Sargeant and Ethel Johnson in Kankakee, IL. She grew up in Oquawka, IL, where she graduated High School. On September 1, 1957, Jeanne was united in marriage to Charles Brown in Monmouth, IL. She assisted as a Teacher’s Aide at Grant Elementary for several years. Jeanne retired from the Sears Catalogue Department after 15 years in 1996. She was a member of the National TTT Society, an embroidery group, and a group of her neighborhood ladies that she swam with three days a week. Jeanne enjoyed many needlework crafts including embroidery, crocheting, hand sewing, and many other arts as well as baking. She was very involved in her church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, where she would attend weekly Bible study groups on Wednesdays. After Charles’ passing, she created many memories traveling with her friends with the Road Scholar’s educational travel program.

Jeanne will be missed by her sons, Kris (Debra) Brown of Las Cruces, NM, Kori (Deveri) Brown, and Kai (Stephanie) Brown, both of Davenport, IA; grandchildren: Kristopher Brown, Heather (Joe) Pickeral, Jessika Brown, Kailey Brown, Sevrin Brown, Trinity Brown, Ian Brown, Noah Brown, Chad Cooper, Jessica Keegan, and Ashley Cooper; five great grandchildren; and siblings: Linda Nelson; David Sargeant, Michael Sargeant, and Paul Sargeant. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; two siblings: Bill and Jim Sargeant; and a brother-in-law; Ron Nelson.
