Obituary
Kenneth Donald Rose, 85, of Moline, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Moline.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, 3303 60th St, Moline, IL 61265. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the church. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Gifts may be made to Trinity International University, 2065 Half Day Rd, Deerfield, IL, 60015, or Homewood Evangelical Free Church. The funeral will be livestreamed and below are the links.

Kenneth Donald Rose was born August 29, 1936, in Moline to Axel and Doris Olson Rose. He married Dora Hancock in Moline December 4, 1960.

He valued strong work ethics and serving his Lord. He graduated from Moline Schools and served a 4-year carpenter apprenticeship with C.E. Peterson Sons. He was the last employee at Erickson Construction company, where he was in charge of their cabinet and millwork shop. He retired from Zephyr Aluminum Company of Dubuque, IA as a sales rep.

He served in multiple leadership roles at First Evangelical Free Church where he was a faithful member for many years. He served as Chairman of the Building Committee when the present sanctuary was constructed. He also served his denomination. He served multiple terms on the Board of Regents at Trinity University in Deerfield, IL and also served multiple terms on the national board of the Evangelical Free Church of America. He was elected Layman of the Year for the denomination in 1993. He is currently a member of Homewood Church in Moline.

He was a world traveler and made multiple visits to six of the seven continents. He also enjoyed nearly every beach in the Caribbean and over 30 ocean cruises.

Now in the arms of Jesus, he is survived by his wife of 62 years and his brothers, Don (Delma) and Larry (Emily), as well as a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
