Obituary

Katherine “Kathy” K. Kane, 64, of Davenport, Iowa became an angel on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

Kathy was born on June 5, 1958 in Iowa City to Marvin L. and Mary Jane Kane. Following high school, she attended barber school and worked as a barber at Da Bears Den Barber Shop in Rock Island for more than 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and visiting the local casinos, but above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

She married Donald Jaques in 1982, but after many years, they divorced. However, they still remained very close friends until his passing last month.

Those left to honor her memory are her two children, Zack (Rebecca Brown) Jaques of Davenport and Sheena Jaques of Davenport; her six grandchildren, Calee, Hannah, Owyn and Calvin Jaques, D’Coda Meeks and Shaylynn Lacy; one great-grandson; siblings, Melodie (Michael) Boyjisky of Davenport, Laurie (Joe) Carpio of Bettendorf and Marvin Kane Jr. of Acworth, Georgia; her bonus children, Keven Jaques, Lance (Becca Johnson) McKittrick and their children, Tyler and Lexi as well as Jenee Madsen and her son, Kaden, and bonus granddaughter, Aubrey Lang.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Debbie, Melvin, Jimmie, and David.

Visitation for Kathy will be held on Saturday, July 30 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf from 12:00 p.m. noon until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Buffalo. Memorials may be directed to the family.
