Martha Louise Border, 91, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 2 pm at the mortuary. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may go to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children, St. Mark Lutheran Church or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Martha was born in Ft. Madison, IA on February 16, 1931. She was the daughter of Rueben and Mary (Sly) Doty. She married Lloyd Border on November 12, 1960 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2011. She had worked as a dietician and taught nursing students for several years.

She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She loved watching old movies and tv shows, especially old Westerns. She also looked forward to her “Picnic in the Car” trips, especially during Covid, where she could get out and enjoy the scenery.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Lori (John) Meierotto, Davenport, siblings: Diane (Fred) Sly, Osage Beach, MO, Mary Ann (Neal) Whitely, Sioux Falls, SD, sister-in-law, Willa Doty, Kahoka, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert and Art.
