APRIL 5, 1939 – JULY 18, 2022

Janet N. Cox, 83 of Davenport, IA, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Genesis East Medical Center. Services in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Weerts Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Private burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the family.

Janet was born on April 5, 1939 in Prairieton, IN to Everett and Marguerite (Myles) Lynch. She was united in marriage to Samuel L. Cox in 1961. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2018.

Janet enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved the outdoors and working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed watching the birds, animals and people walking their dogs. She was a wonderful cook, and always made sure her family and friends never left her home hungry.

Survivors include her children Bradley (Ronda) Cox, Julie (Jeffrey) Pethoud, Wendy Cox and JR (Julie) Cox; grandchildren Jessica, Amanda, Rachel, Cloe, Bailey, Michael, Derek and Stephanie; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Steve (Karen) Lynch; special family member Jenny Ubel and numerous nieces, nephews and very special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son William Cox and her special furry best friend Katie.
