Born July 11, 1950 in Rockford, IL to Charlotte & Glen Argyle. He was the eldest of his three siblings; Thomas, Lynette, and Timothy. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1968 and enlisted to serve his country in 1969 for the United States Navy. During his enlistment, he was stationed at the U.S Naval Air Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for almost a year and then he toured the Mediterranean in 1972 on the U.S.S Franklin D. Ron attended Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL and graduated with a minor in Business in 1981. His career in the Telecommunications Industry began at GTE of IL in Belvidere, 1973, as a Central Office Technician. He excelled in sales and management as the Director of Operations at Hughes Business Telephone during the company’s start-up in Loves Park & Des Plaines, IL 1983. He was a natural born salesman and self-promoter. He even proved to be the best Rumble raffle ticket salesman in Iron Lion DGS history.

He was a loving father to his two children, Bradley & Jessica Argyle, their biggest fan. His hobbies included photography, fishing, cross-country skiing, boy scouts, camping, going to the movies, pranking the neighbors. He loved card games with friends & family and fishing trips with his brothers & cousins. Some of his greatest childhood memories involve his many cousins and regular trips to visit family in Minnesota.

His retirement years were spent in the Quad Cities, Moline, IL with his daughter, Jessica (Chase Roberts). His only grandchild, Layla J Roberts, was the highlight of his world. He dutifully babysat every Sunday and took great pride in spoiling her rotten and beating her at Monopoly.
