Last rites for Thomas Paul Heizer, 19, Bettendorf, grandson of Paul Kruse, Tipton, were held at Bettendorf Aug. 30. He died when the car he was driving struck a railroad trestle in Davenport Aug. 27.

He was on his way to work for the Milwaukee railroad when he apparently lost control of his car and rammed the center column of a railroad overpass.

He was a 1970 graduate of Bettendorf high school and would have been a sophomore at Earlham college, Richmond, Ind. He was a member of the Bettendorf high school football and wrestling teams and was a wrester at Earlham.

He was employed by the Milwaukee railroad this summer.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Heizer, Bettendorf, 2 sisters, Mary, Moline and Ruth, at home; his grandfather, Paul Kruse, Tipton and 2 aunts, Gertrude Kruse and Mrs. Margaret Johnston, both of Tipton.
