Darrell Richard “Bugsy” Goeken, 76, of Davenport, IA, formerly of Delavan, IL, was pronounced dead on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
He was born September 28, 1945 in Delavan, IL, the son of Richard and Charlotte (Lucas) Goeken. On June 28, 1971, he was married to Chang Pak in Temple, TX.

Surviving are his loving wife, Chang Goeken; and sisters, Sylvia (Bill) Stockham of Green Valley, IL, LuAnn (Nathanial) Morton of Pulaski, IA, and Barbara (Randy) Lawson of Bloomfield, IA.

He was preceded in death by his father in August 1992; mother in February 2022; brother, Keith, in October 2005; and brother, Bruce, in July 2015.

Mr. Goeken retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL. He served in the U.S. Army almost 13 years, during which he attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt and later promoted to Captain.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 26, a member of Davenport lodge 37 AF & AM, a past Master of Philbrook Lodge 659 AF&AM, and a charter member of The Mississippi Valley Water Garden Society. He loved hunting, fishing, raising Japanese Koi, Bonsai, and gardening.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
