Beverly Rae Garrett, 80, of East Moline, formerly of Hillsdale, Illinois, died Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Allure of Geneseo. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Private family graveside services will be in Mt. Maria Cemetery, Hillsdale.
Beverly was born August 28, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Helen (Bachelder) Ackerman, and grew up in Moline, attending Moline schools. Beverly worked at different establishments in the area as a waitress and bartender. Many would remember Bev from her time at the Cellar in Geneseo, Beavers in Atkinson or the American Legion in Hillsdale. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Carbon Cliff. Bev most recently attended Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. The greatest light of her life was her two boys, Zach and Luke.
She is survived by sons, Zachary (Rhoni) Perrine, Geneseo, Luke (Theresa) Perrine, Collbran, CO; brothers, Harry Mahar, Geneseo, Pat (Lisa) Mahar, Rock Island; sisters, Terisa (Roy) Bunch, Rock Island, Helen (David) Gustafson, Georgia; and grandson, Tyler Perrine.
