Albert Merton Hurry, 85, of East Moline, IL, died Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his home. There will be a private family graveside service in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, East Moline. Gibson – Bode Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
Mert was born June 27, 1936 in Moline, IL. He married Shirley Loy on April 15, 1953 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline. Mert was a self-employed contractor. He worked his entire life in construction. He was also a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mert enjoyed his work and he loved following his son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hurry, East Moline; 3 sons, Randy (Jeri) Hurry, Palm Coast, FL, Marty Hurry (Bev Wiley), East Moline, Chad (Beth) Hurry, Port Byron; sister, Reba Williams, Moline; 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Jake, and Kyle Hurry, Katelyn Nelson and Taylor Hurry; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Mary Winter; brothers, Dennis and Lawrence Hurry; and sister, Carol Loy. Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com
