Obituary
Funeral services for Roger S. Ellis, 59, of Bettendorf, will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, where military rites will be conducted by Bettendorf V.F.W. Post 9128. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Roger passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home in Bettendorf. Roger was born on February 10, 1963, in Staten Island, New York, the son of Norman and Lynne (Hadden) Ellis. He married Sandy Richards on December 30, 1981, they were later divorced. He served in the U.S. Navy from July 10, 1981 to July 9, 1983. Roger worked as a machinist for Bowe Manufacturing for 27 years, retiring in 2021. He was a member of the Bettendorf V.F.W. and the American Legion, Bettendorf. Roger enjoyed fixing things and working with his hands.

Survivors include his daughter; Dana Ellis of Dixon, Illinois, sons; Roger Ellis Jr. of Colts Neck, New Jersey, Johnathon Ortega of Ankeny, Iowa, grandchildren; Amber, Hunter, Hayden, father; Norman Ellis of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, sister; Holly Ellis-Williams of Lansford, Pennsylvania, and brother; Richard Ellis of Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynne.
