Obituary for Joel Allen Mlekush
Joel Allen Mlekush, 42, of Davenport, IA, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at his home.

Family and friends are invited to Joel's Celebration of Life on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 2-7 pm at Bad Boyz Pizza - 4706 Utica Ridge Rd, Davenport, IA. Please wear your favorite Cubs or Bears attire in memory of Joel.

Joel was born on April 9, 1980, in Moline, IL, to Richard and Mona (Lyons) Mlekush. After graduating from Rock Island High School in 1998, he received his Associate's degree in technical studies from Scott Community College. He was employed by Superior Tube Products. He married Dawn Mlekush in 2002, and they had three sons, Zachary, Zayne, and Zander Mlekush. They later divorced. He was later married to Heather (Jones) Mlekush, and they had a son, Rhys Mlekush.

His joy in life was spending time with his children and family. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears games, of which he was an avid fan.

Joel is survived by his wife, Heather; children, Zachary Mlekush, Zayne Mlekush, Zander Mlekush, Rhys Mlekush, Kase Jones (stepson), and Savi Jones (stepdaughter); ex-wife, Dawn Mlekush, parents, Mona Lyons Mlekush and Richard (Vicki) Mlekush; sister, Janell (Jon Muud) Mlekush, Davenport, IA; brother, Jeremy (Kalli) Mlekush, Las Vegas, NV; step-brother, Jeffrey Hovey, Atkinson, IL; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Alice Lyons; paternal grandfather, Ronald Mlekush; nieces, Mylee Adams and Kinley Mlekush; nephews, Elijah Adams, Shahib Kouyate, Kasen Ross, Alexander Rhoads and Kalvin Mlekush; Aunts, Margaret Carrol, Cape Coral, FL, Sandra Schlorf, Moline, Sherry Reid, Davenport, IA; uncles, Keith Mlekush, Moline, Mark (MaryAnn) Mlekush, Madison, WI; first cousins Emily (Justin) Iverson, Elisabeth Rasmussen, Gabe and Angelina Mlekush, Madison, WI; many Great-Aunts, Great-Uncles, along with several second and third cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Mlekush, cousin and best friend Paul Elliot Rasmussen, and an uncle, Paul Rasmussen.
