Obituary
Lucille “Grandma Lucy” Anderson, of Moline, passed away June 5, 2022 at Bickford Senior Living.

Lucy was born May 26, 1937 in Galesburg, the daughter of Robert Daniels and Mary (Lovdahl) Daniels Dickerson. She married Duane Stuart Anderson on January 11, 1958 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2007.
Lucy was a nanny in Chicago after attending Lutheran Social Services Augustana Nursery before meeting her husband Duane at an Augustana College dance and beginning their nearly 50 years together in Moline after short periods in Galesburg and Storm Lake Iowa.

Lucy was an active member of First Baptist Church, Moline and involved with the Church nursery, the Red Hat Society and the American Baptist Women Ministries.

She was a talented homemaker who loved sewing and collecting dolls and teddy bears and always came up with clever Halloween costumes for her grandchildren and holiday themed clothing for her teddy bear collection. Lucy also enjoyed being a lunch lady at Jane Addams school.

For over a decade you could find Lucy most mornings walking the mall always smiling and making time with her mall friends.

Survivors include her children, Greg (Kimberly) Anderson, Paula (Mark) Evans, and Carla (Jeff) Wallace; grandchildren, Garrett (Jennifer) Anderson, Kirsten Anderson, Dr. Bryce Evans and Blake (Samantha) Evans; great granddaughters, Taylor, Riley, Rachael and Rylan; sister, Helen Coe, and special niece, Pam Grys. She was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Daniels and brothers, William and Steve Daniels.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, Moline or the Alzheimer’s Association.
