Funeral services for Arthur Timmsen, 70, were held at Durant Dec. 26 with burial in the Durant cemetery. Mr. Timmsen died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Dec. 23, following a lengthy illness.

The son of Louis and Amanda Timmsen, he was born in Davenport July 6, 1900 had lived in Durant for 40 years.

Arthur Timmsen was married to Clara Fay Meyer, Jan. 23, 1929 at Davenport.

Mr. Timmsen farmed in the Durant area and moved into Durant in 1940. He had been a salesman for Pioneer Hi-Bred Corn Co. 28 years. He served on the Durant city council for 7 years.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Wayne, Durant; 3 daughters, Mrs. Wilbert (Patricia) Dietz, Keota; Mrs. Robert (Delores) Meincke and Mrs. Delmar (Barbara) Frick both of Durant; 3 brothers, Walter and Louis, Wilton and Edward of Phoeniz, Ariz.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Hazel Hintze, Davenport; Mrs. Henry Fromme, Muscatine and Mrs. Ray Adrian, Davenport; also 6 grandchildren.
