Michael Steven Day, 69, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Wapello, IA. A memorial service will be Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Memorials may go to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Mike was born August 8, 1952 in Davenport, the son of George E. and Martha E. (Border) Day, Jr. He married Pamela Serres on February 14, 2003 in Davenport. He retired from Arconic (Alcoa) after 29 ½ years of service.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, deer and duck hunter. He also loved spending time with his family and going to his cabin. Mike was one not to mince words but, was a great friend who had a big heart.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Pam, daughter, Heather Allen (James), stepdaughter, Ashley Simmons (Jay), mother, Martha Day, grandchildren, Hayley and Josie and great granddaughter, Zoe, all of Davenport; siblings: Linda Brachtel (James), Solon, IA, Vicki Gamble, Davenport, Christine Whipple (Harry), Milan, IL and Gregg Day (Paula), Solon, IA, numerous nieces and nephews and his special buddy, “Paco.”

His father preceded him in death.
