Sister Mary Bibiana, whose worldly name was Hynes, died suddenly at the Immaculate Conception Academy at 1 o'clock this morning. Deceased had been in her usual health up to last night with the exception of a slight attack of rheumatism which had not interferred with the performance of her regular duties. She retired at the usual hour but was taken with a fit of coughing shortly after midnight. Dr Braceline was called, but before her could arrive the spirt had fled.

Deceased was born in Ireland, March 4, 1837 and came to this country when a girl of 15. She entered St Joseph's convent at Dubuque in 1855 and came to this city in 1859 with Sister Mary James, Sister Mary Isador and several other sisters who are still continuing their good work here or whose names are held in tender reverence by the many who knew them. They established a boarding school where Mercy hospital now stands and conducted it there several years, afterward purchasing the property where the Immaculate Conception Academy now stands and which was then devoted to private residence. The splendid school and beautiful grounds and buildings have been built up during the period of her work in this city and it is the association with and the teaching of such as she, that have made the academy a place which was always looked up to with the tenderest recollections by those who have graduated form it in years gone by. Sister Mary Bibiana was a woman of noble charact and many good works. She has no relatives living, as far as is known, but she will be sincerely mourned by hundreds who have known and loved her.

The funeral will take place tomorrow morning with services at the Sacred Heart Cathedral at 9 o'clock. The interment will be at St Mary's cemetery.
