Pastor Stanley Moore was born June 22, 1956, to Clyde and Pearlie Mae Moore. He grew up in Crawfordville (the Bottom), Arkansas and graduated from Crawfordville High School in 1973. He spent his early years learning about hard work, dedication and love for others "most importantly his family."

Pastor Moore came from a musically gifted Christian family so his ability to sing was natural. He sang gospel at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and later joined family members traveling throughout the states singing with the "True Gospel Wimics".

He accepted his call to ministry over 35 years ago while working and raising his children. His call to ministry took him to various places to live Osceola, AR; Detroit, Ml; Marietta, GA; and finally, Davenport, IA where he would have celebrated 17 years of faithful service in August 2022. Pastor Moore received a Master's Degree of Divinity from United Christian Achievement Network in 1996 and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Liberty University in 2008.

He has been active in state and local .Christian organizations. Pastor Moore served as President for Quad Cities Pastors Conference; Scholarship Commissioner and Recording Secretary for Baptist General State Convention of IL; 2nd Vice Moderator, 1st Vice Moderator and had just begun his tenure_ as Moderator for Wood River Baptist Association. With each position his goal was to advance the Kingdom of God through knowledge and service.

Pastor came to Progressive with ,the mantra "No More Church as Usual!" He was instrumental in the development of the following ministries: Eagle's Nest, Praise Dance, New members, Re-Entry (ministry for addictions), Mandate (Men's ministry) Women's Ministry, Angel Tree (at the church) and Camp Excel Summer Camp.

In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling, cooking, and spending time with family.

He transitioned to his heavenly home on March 20, 2022. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Earlene (Alvin) Alexander; children: Kelton Moore, Suzanna (Roshan) Little, Sebastian Moore, Evin Moore, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Clyde and Pearlie); sisters (Brenda and Darlene); Brother (Arthur), daughter (Teneal) and his beloved wife (Connie).
