Obituary for Lawrence "Larry" Mistic
Lawrence "Larry" Mistic, 72, of Orion, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 25, 2022, at his home. Cremation rites will be accorded.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at 1:00 pm at Oakwood Country Club, 1067 W. First Ave., Coal Valley, IL. Inurnment will be in Coal Valley Township Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial bench in Venice, FL.

Thank you to the First Responders from the Orion Fire Department for their quick response and attention; we will be forever grateful.

Larry was born August 4, 1949, in Geneseo, IL, to George and Martha (Cocquit) Mistic. He married Kathleen Miller at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley, IL, on February 16, 1974, who survives.

After graduating in 1967 from Alleman High School, he completed his Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program. He was employed by Johnson Contracting Company, retiring as a job superintendent after 43 years of service. He enjoyed walking his dog, Molly, riding his Harley, and driving his Corvette. He loved spending time with his family, including watching the grandkids at their sporting events, his daily calls with his best pals, traveling, and wintering in Venice, FL. Larry never knew a stranger and always had a smile to give.

Larry's favorite quote: "Tomorrow isn't promised, and we will always be together."

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; daughters: Michelle (Justin) Gingrey, Bremerton, WA, Kayla (Nate) Sadofsky, Orion, IL; son: Chad Mistic; grandchildren: Peyton, Emma, Reese, Parker Gingrey; Landon Gekas, and Kara Sadofsky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha; mother-in-law, Marilyn Miller, and father-in-law, Robert Miller.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on his Memory Wall.
