Robert “Bob” J. Smahaj, 66, of Davenport, Iowa, died April 24, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 3, 2022 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 pm Monday, May 2, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Bob was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1956 to Joseph J. and Catherine Smahaj. He married Cheryl Kirkpatrick on January 16, 1993 in Davenport and again on February 14, 2015. She preceded him in death two months later. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1974. Bob was a credit specialist for MidAmerican Energy for 30 years, retiring in 2019. He also played bass guitar for various bands, and enjoyed fishing, camping, pinochle, pool and golf.

Survivors include his children, Amy (Danny) Warren of Aledo, IL., Mirranda (Steve) Hernandez of Rock Island, IL and Thomas (Dana) Hammill of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Haley Jennings, Lauren Hernandez, Blake White, Austin Kirkpatrick, Issabelle Whitcomb, Trenton Rhodenbaugh, and Kiefer and Kyler Hammill; great-grandchildren, Kayiden, LillyAnna, Layla and Dax; sister, Sandy Furlow and brothers, Joe (Sherry) Smahaj and John (Mary) Smahaj.

He was preceded in death by his wife, father, mother and a sister, Cathy.
