Elmer Holst, 26, Le Claire Native, Dies of Pneumonia

Elmer L. Holst, 26, 212 Sturdevant street, native of LeClaire township, died at 2:40 a.m. today at Mercy hospital of double pneumonia and other complications, after an illness of three days’ duration.

Born in LeClaire township, Scott county, on April 6, 1909, he received his education in schools of that township and was associated with his father in farming until coming to Davenport 10 months ago. He was married here on Aug. 15, 1934, to Helen Hunter.

Mr. Holst was a member off St. Mark’s Lutheran church.

Surviving besides his widow, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Holst, LeClaire township; three sisters, Mrs. Omar Marvin and Mrs. Henry Stichter, Jr., both of LeClaire, and Mrs. Adolph Lindstrand, East Moline; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Holst, Davenport.

The body was taken to Runge’s mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. M. A. Getzendaner officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.
