Funeral Services for Roger D. Haynes, 74, a resident of Montpelier, will be 12 Noon Monday, December 27, 2021, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. The family will greet friends Monday at the funeral home from 10am until the time of the service. The family requests that masks be worn by all attendees. Memorials may be made to the family for a future memorial. Roger passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City surrounded by his family.

Roger Dale Haynes was born March 7, 1947, in Cozahome, Arkansas, a son of Henry and Wanda (Hurst) Haynes. He served his county in the U.S. Marine Corp. Roger was a semi-truck driver with the Teamsters Local Union. He married Jean Dixon – they later divorced. He married Carolyn (Countryman) Rechtfertig June 12, 1999. They have celebrated 22 years of marriage. Carolyn passed away December 21, 2021.

Roger enjoyed visiting the family acreage in Arkansas, working on cars and tractors, and helping with the farming. He had an unwavering faith in Christ, a giving nature to help family and friends, and a contagious love for jokes and teasing.

Those left to honor Roger’s memory include his son Scott (Christy) Haynes, DeWitt; step-children: Lisa Ahlf, Muscatine; Karen (Tracy) Siefken, Wever; and Curtis (Kathy) Countryman, Sycamore, Illinois; grandchildren: Danica Haynes, Bailey Thie, Ashley Ahlf, Abby Ahlf, Jacob (Kari) Countryman, Kelsi (Kevin) Boltz, and Holy Siefken; great-grandchildren: Tristan, Callie, Bryce and Landyn; siblings: Ronnie (Joyce) Haynes, Rita Anderson, and Danny (Lisa) Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn, daughter Tammy and brother Larry.
