Barbara Florice Kehn, 93, of Davenport, IA, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at home. Per her wishes, cremation will take place with a Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Burial will take place at the Rock Island Arsenal. Arrangements were entrusted to Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com

Barbara was born August 18, 1928, in Chicago Heights, IL, the daughter of Albert and Florice Musser. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1946 and attended the American Institute of Commerce. Barbara married Bryce Kehn of Delmar, Iowa, on September 5, 1948, in Muscatine.

Barbara’s employment included the 1947 Session of the Iowa Legislature, secretary to the late congressman Fred Schwengel, American Mutual Life Ins. Co, First Baptist Church secretary and the Children’s Achievement Centers.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, music clubs in the community, Chapter GW, P.E.O, and Plus 60’s. Barbara volunteered through R.S.V.P as a reading tutor and was a transcriber for the Iowa Department for the Blind and Physically Handicapped for 18 years.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Robin) Kehn of Hideaway, TX, and David (Leokadia) Kehn of Davenport; grandchildren: Alexis Cooper of Hideaway, TX, Kendall (Pete) Wright of El Cajon, CA, and Sean (JoAnna) Kindig of Blue Grass, IA; great grandchildren: Mya, Bryce, Ethan, Ava, Hudson, and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bryce.

Memorials may be directed to the Faith United Methodist Church and the Handicapped Development Center.
