Funeral services celebrating the life of James L. “Jimmy” Powell 69, of Davenport, will be 12:00p.m., Noon, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. His family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00a.m.-Noon at the funeral home. Honoring his wishes the rite of cremation will be accorded after services. Jimmy passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at his home following an extended illness.

James Lawrence Powell was born August 19, 1952 in Hannibal, MO, a son of Raymond Dewey and Doris Louise (Grisham) Powell. Jimmy met Nancy Brodersen in 1975 and they were inseparable ever since and they united in marriage, July 4, 1996. He had retired from Midland Recycling.

Jimmy rode Harley Davidsons and was a member of the Ranch Riders. Jimmy was a kind hearted and would give the shirt off his back to those he cared for.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Nancy and their children; Tracy (Juanita) Powell, Nichole (Raul) Martinez, Tammy (Nick) Adams, Rebecca (Steve) Merriman, all of Davenport, and Jesse (Jenifer) Brodersen, DeWitt; siblings; Gladys (Davie) Govan, Melinda (Randy) Gonzalez, Richard (Penny) Powell, all of Davenport, and Mary (Mike) Fiems, Tucson, AZ; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and his brothers in the Ranch Riders.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Otis Powell and Raymond Powell.
