Richard Leo Miller, Davenport, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the age of 84. Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. The Mass will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/holyfamilydavenport/ Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 3pm to 5pm Tuesday, November 23rd at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. There will be a rosary at 4:30pm for those that would like to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.

Richard was born in Burlington, Iowa on February 23, 1937, to Norman J. and Rose M. (Dulansky) Miller. He graduated from St. Ambrose Academy in 1954 and attended St. Ambrose College. He married Joan Patricia Dahlquist on June 16, 1962, at Holy Family church. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Miller was employed by NJ Miller, Inc. After retirement, he and his wife relocated to Cordova, Illinois along the Mississippi River. He enjoyed the river and wildlife, great neighbors, gardening, and taking long walks. He also volunteered at the Cordova Public Library and treasured the friendships he made there. In addition, they enjoyed many winters in Yuma, Arizona where he enjoyed good friends, fishing and camping in the desert.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife; son, Reverend Mark Miller, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sheffield, Illinois; daughters: Amy (Chuck) Pappas, Lt. Col. USAF(Ret), Muscatine, Iowa; Dr. Kathleen George (Todd Johnson), Missoula, Montana; and Julie (Joseph) Marley, Davenport; grandchildren: Andrew and Caitlin Marley; brothers: Norman (Mary) Miller, Davenport; Nick (Cathy) Miller, Davenport; and Steve Miller, Yuma, Arizona; and sister, Mary Ann (Lee) DeJulius, Davenport.
