Obituary
Troy A. Mader, 50, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 29, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, at the funeral home. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to the family, for a fund to be established in Troy’s memory.

Troy Allen Mader was born March 6, 1971, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Richard “Butch” Mader and Sherry (Owens) Rodriguez. He graduated from Davenport North High School in 1989 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He spent three years aboard the USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 during Operation Desert Storm, during which time he earned two Bronze Stars. He married the love of his life, Dana Falkenstein, on October 13, 2017, in LeClaire, Iowa.

He loved his sports; his Hawkeyes, his Yankees, and his Dallas Cowboys. Troy loved his kids, adventures with his wife, and days spent by the pool. He loved cars, sports bars, matching his outfits with Dana, and hanging out with the boys. One of his all time loves was watching Hanna and Reed at their sporting events and being a dad in the stands. He had an amazing sense of humor and brought light to whatever room he was in. Troy had a strong love for his family, God, and country.

Troy is survived by his beloved wife, Dana of Jacksonville; two children, Hanna and Reed Vanderheyden; his mother and step-father, Sherry and Charlie Rodriguez of Davenport; his father and step-mother, Richard “Butch” and Julie Mader of Davenport; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Falkenstein of Pahrump, Nevada; his grandmother, Patricia Jourdan of Davenport, Iowa; siblings, Steve (Ena) Rodriguez of Windsor, Colorado, Jodette (Steve Kline) Collins of Davenport, Brett (Rebecca) Rodriguez of Loveland, Colorado, and Brett Herron of Davenport; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Fred Falkenstein; and grandparents, Curly and Betty Owens, Richard and Doris Mader, Mary Edens, Erv Jourdan, and Oscar Rodriguez.
