Sharon Larrison

February 14, 1950-November 13, 2021

Sharon Larrison went home to her heavenly father on November 13, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer. She died at peace surrounded by family at Gensis East Hospital in Davenport. But as Sharon believed, DEATH IS NOT THE END! Sharon's Home-Bound Service will be held at Newcomb Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 am, with a visitation beforehand starting at 9:30. Memorials may be made to Newcomb Presbyterian Church, The Carter Center, or Attacking Trafficking.

She was born Valentine's Day 1950 to Frankie Dingman Robinson and James Robinson. Sharon graduated from Central High School in the volatile year of 1968, then graduating from Iowa State University in 1973 with a degree in Biology. She was united in marriage to Greg Larrison on June 2, 1973. Sharon continued her education, graduating from The Augustana Quad Cities Hospital School of Medical Technology in 1976. She was then privileged to work with wonderful teams in the health care field as a laboratory specialist, applying her knowledge at Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, Internal Medicine Associates, and Genesis Health Group where she retired from the position of lab manager in 2013.

She was a long-time member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder and Deacon and was honored to work with the congregation on various mission projects within the church, community, and world. She was also involved in the fight against human trafficking, and served in the Befriender program at Genesis Health System. Sharon and Greg's greatest blessing came with the arrival of their son Thomas in 1987, and then his marriage to Lea Taylor.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Greg; son Tom and wife Lea (Bettendorf); sisters Jacki Nelson (Las Vegas), Marsha Miller (Bob) (Davenport); brother Reid (Linn) (Rock Island); step-father John Kempter (Milan); step-mother Margie Robinson (Davenport); brother–in-law and sister-in-law Randy and Kay Larrison (Piedmont, SD); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Steve; and brother-in-law Dennis Nelson.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sy, Dr. Daniel, Katie Browne, NP, and the medical teams who provided compassionate care throughout Sharon's illness. And a special thank you to everyone who has supported and prayed for Sharon throughout the years of her health challenges.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left to the family by visiting Sharon's obituary at www.weertsfh.com.
