December 3, 1941-December 28, 2019

Robert H. Cartwright, 78, of York, PA, previously of Davenport, IA; passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the York Hospital unexpectedly following a brief illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 10-11am with a celebration of life starting at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert's name maybe made to the Alzheimer's Association of South Central PA. Burial of the urn will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service.

Bob was born on December 3, 1941 to Lewis and Doris Cartwright. He was a 1960 graduate of Davenport Central High School. Bob served with the United States Navy for two years during Cuban Missile Crisis. After an Honorable Discharge, he joined the Davenport Police Department at the age of 21; he later joined the Scoot County Sheriff's Department. In 1968, Bob went to work for Caterpillar, where he eventually managed Safety, Security, and Environmental for 31 years before retiring. After retiring from Caterpillar, Bob was hired by Brasler Properties to help facilitate the transformation of the former Caterpillar plant to the warehouse and distribution property, which is now the York Business Center. Bob was also a proud, lifelong member of the Mason Service Association.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Sandra; five children: Kari Morris, Bryan Cartwright, Kelly (Bill) Cartwright Romano, Kirby Cartwright, Kyle Cartwright; three grandchildren: Amanda Morris, Sophia Romano, and Kaito Cartwright; sister Linda (Tom) Behning, and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends who were family to him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Doris, and his brother Donald (Lois) Cartwright.
