Claire "Pat" Clapp

July 6, 1927-October 29, 2021

BETTENDORF-Claire "Pat" Clapp, 94 of Bettendorf, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at The Fountains, Bettendorf. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 12 P.M at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials may be left Beacon of Hope Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.weertsfh.com.

Pat was born in Elmhurst, IL on July 6, 1927 to Horace and Clara (Chandler) Marshall. She was united in marriage to James Clapp on March 4, 1946 in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2009. Pat worked on her family farm alongside her husband caring for the livestock and crops. This was something she truly enjoyed.

Pat was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir. Pat was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed square dancing, and was a member of the twirling travelers. She also enjoyed camping and traveling across the United States.

Pat is survived by her children, Paul (Carol) Clapp of Ankeny, IA., J. Carl (Mona) Clapp of Camanche, IA. and Ruthann Clapp of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Thomas, William and Sarah; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Jean Witt and Ruth Miller.
