June 27, 1930-October 25, 2021

DAVENPORT-Marie A. Cox, 91, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Manor Care – Utica Ridge, with her family by her side. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 9-11am at Weerts Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 1:30pm at First Christian Church, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials in Marie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to your favorite charity.

Marie was born June 27, 1930 to Alta Clark in Toledo, Ohio. Following her high school graduation, she was united in marriage to Donald A. Cox on July 30, 1949. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting different projects for family and friends and gardening. She enjoyed bowling and on any given summer evening she could be found at a ballpark watching her children or grandchildren play ball. Marie's family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor Marie's memory are her husband of 72 years, Donald; children: Paul (Donna) Cox, Diane (Dennis) Bright, Robert (Vicki) Cox, Carol (James) Glines, Douglas (Linda) Cox, Walter (Sandra) Cox, Cynthia (Donald) Walton, Beverly (Eugene) Case, Patricia Darland, and Marcia (Bryon) Mirocha; 27 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Alta, stepfather Elson Pemberton, and granddaughter Tonya Ward.
