Cheryl A. Harksen, 74, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 1pm at Weerts Funeral Home, visitation will start at 12pm and go until time of service. Memorials in Cheryl’s name may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Cheryl was born on September 5, 1947 to George and Hazel Broughton in Davenport, Iowa. Cheryl wore many hats through the years, ranging from beautician to CNA; but her favorite was taking care of her family. Cheryl was united in marriage to James “Jim” Harksen on October 4, 1996. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Davenport before it had to close its doors. Cheryl was the matriarch of the family and was never scared to speak her mind. She loved to spend time outside in the garden caring for her flowers. Cheryl was well known for her decorating skills and making flower arrangements.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Jim; children Jeff (Danielle) Burton and Vicky (Joe) Archer; grandchildren: Travis Burton, Ashly (Kyle) Long, Aaron (Brittany) Bunch, and Alexis (Fabian) Villanueva; great-grandchildren: Kimberly, Miah, Brody, Hudson, Kimberlynn, Paisley, Naomi, and Giovanni; siblings: Dennis, Eva, Harry, Bryan, Kathy, and Ann; and her partner in crime Linda Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kimberly Burton, and fur baby Breeanna. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at DaVita Dialysis for all of their care.
