Donaly “Don” G. Grubbs, 85, of Davenport, IA, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Genesis East Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

Don was born May 29, 1936 to Jack and Ola Mae (Good) Grubbs in Kingsport, TN. On June 8, 1957, he married the love of his life, Marlys Caylor in Davenport, IA. At the age of 19 he started working in concrete construction for Laborers’ Local Union 309, retiring after 30 years in 1987.

Don always kept himself busy. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting pheasants, fishing, and being outdoors. He was an avid NASCAR fan and he especially liked Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon. He was also a Chicago Cubs fan. Don was very close with his brothers and sisters and he loved spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Brad (Rhea) Grubbs, Davenport, IA; daughter, Candy (Chad) Cribb, LeClaire, IA; grandchildren: Peter (Jessica) Grubbs, Rachel (Laken) Flugel, Cody (Elizabeth) Parkhurst, and Morgan Parkhurst; great grandchild, Ari Grubbs; sisters, Eva Caylor, Lena Grubbs and Pat Mowell; brothers: Jack “Jr.” Grubbs, Melvin (Dolly) Grubbs, Dick (Elaine) Grubbs, and Doyle (Val) Grubbs; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Marlys Grubbs; and sisters, Mattie Watts, Louise Bishop, and Mildred Grubbs.
