Dr. Huber died Monday, October 18, 2021 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus surrounded by his family.

Lawrence Robert Huber was born February 13, 1936 in Rock Island, a son of Ernest L. and Ann F. (Nigra) Huber. He graduated from Alleman High School, Creighton University School of Dentistry, and the University of Iowa Certificate of Prosthodontics.

He married Coletta Denniston on June 25, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, Illinois. They have shared over 61 years of marriage and memories together.

Dr. Huber served our country in the Air Force from 1960 until 1962 earning an honorable discharge as Captain.

Dr. Huber served our community as a Prosthodontist and was also on staff at the University of Iowa as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics for 44 years retiring in 2014.

Dr. Huber was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral where he served on the parish council and as a trustee, Scott County Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the American Dental Association, International College of Dentistry, the American College of Dentistry, Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry, OKU Dental Fraternity, a Trustee in the Society for Occlusal Studies, Past President of the American Equilibration Society, Co-Founder of the International Partnership for the Study of Occlusion, St. Serra Club, as well as a board member for Creighton National Alumni Association. He loved his Catholic faith. He wished that everyone could see each other, and themselves, as a beloved child of God. He loved coaching youth baseball in the Quad Cities and cheered for the Chicago White Sox and his beloved Creighton Blue Jays through the good and bad years, and looks forward to seeing the White Sox continue their winning ways next season.

But despite all of these professional accolades and decades of community involvement, Dr. Huber's greatest pride and the best measure of his legacy is found in the family that he and his wife Coletta built. He is survived by Coletta, their seven children and their spouses: Mark (Margaret) Huber, Houston, Texas; the Honorable John Huber, Omaha, Nebraska; Mary Shawn (Eric) Mitchell, Sarasota, Florida; Deacon Daniel (Rachel) Huber, Davenport; Matthew Huber, Lindenhurst, Illinois; Meg (Jeff) Gonka, Omaha, Nebraska; and Mib (David) Schinzel, Omaha, Nebraska; 20 grandchildren, five great-grandsons, and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Marcia) Huber, Cedarburg, Wisconsin

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law Beverly (Leo) Kerker, and a niece Kathryn Kerker. May they rest in peace.
