Nun Killed In Traffic Mishap

Last rites for Sister Mary Carmelita Millane, 77, were held Wednesday, Nov. 4 in Nevada, Mo. She was struck by a car Sunday afternoon after attending services in Blessed Sacrament Church in Kansas City. She died Sunday evening in St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City.

Sister Carmelita taught schools in Jefferson County before entering the convent in 1923 in Nevada.

Relatives attending the services were Mrs. A.J. Arndt, Mrs. John Millane and sons, Joe and John and Anna Millane, all of Fairfield; Theresa Millane of Long Beach, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Millane and family of Davenport.

They returned to their homes on Thursday afternoon.
