Robert “Bob” Eugene Hungate, 67, of Walnut Grove, MO, formerly of Port Byron and Orion, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 24, 2021 while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm Monday, July 19, 2021 at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. A service will follow at 7:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the family.
Robert was born on August 14, 1953 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Carl and Betty (Lavine) Hungate. He graduated from Riverdale High School and worked for John Deere Harvester where he held several positions over 30 years, retiring in 2011. Bob married Heather Marie Nesbitt on December 18, 2004 in Serena, Illinois.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids, fishing, camping, working in the yard, listening to country music and a nice cold beer.
Bob is survived by his wife, Heather; sons, Robert “Bobby” (Heidi) Hungate, of Port Byron, Bryar (Miah) Crosiar, of Sherrard, IL, Blake Crosiar, of Orion, IL; daughter Brooke (Devin) Hankins, of Bradlyville, MO; brother, Mike (Janelle) Hungate, of Sugarland, TX; sisters, Sharon (Mike) Davidson, of Cordova, Linda (Garry) Behrendt, of Port Byron; grandchildren Carrieanne and Cayleigh Hungate, Addison and Ashtyn Haskins, and Elyus Crosiar.
