Richard “Rick” Gobin, 66, of Davenport, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at his home. Private services will be held with immediate family per Rick’s wishes. Inurnment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery with Military Honors.

Rick was born on April 18, 1955 to Harold and Mildred Gobin. Following high school, Rick joined the the United States Army, then went on to work for Case IH as a machine operator for 30 years, and retiring from the Rock Island Arsenal in 2017.

On June 8, 1996 he was united in marriage to Sherry Buster. Rick loved to spend his days out on the golf course or watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. His favorite pastime, though, was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.

Rick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherry; step-children Stacy (Ben) Brummit, Sean (Samantha) Nagle, Patrick (Ashley) Nagle, Donya Metz, Jenissa Johnson, and Nathaniel Bell; grandchildren: Adriana, Josiah, Ashlyn, Madeline, Lincoln, and Willow; nephew: Danny (Laura Quang) Gobin; and his dog and retirement buddy Agnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Danny Gobin, and his sister Theresa Gobin.
