GENESEO-Dave Ahlstrand, 75, of Geneseo passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the comfort of his favorite place -- home. Visitation will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory- Geneseo Chapel, on Tuesday, May 4 from 5:00-7:00pm, and funeral services will take place at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo, on Wednesday, May 5 at 11:00am with Pastor Laura Kamprath officiating. Service will be available via livestream through First Lutheran Church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to First Lutheran Church, Geneseo, IL or the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation attn: Home Healthcare Services.

Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Chris; children Amanda Ahlstrand and Gareth Rees of Bettendorf, IA and DJ and Stephanie Ahlstrand of Huntington Beach, CA; and grandchildren Owen and Rosie Rees and David and Elle Ahlstrand, all of whom are at a loss for words.

We know he is sad to say goodbye to his brother, Tom Ahlsrand; his favorite in-laws, Rick and Marcia Brown and Phyllis Ahlstrand; and all his nieces, nephews and their families. But he is rejoicing to be reunited with his parents, Alphild and Frannie Ahlstrand. His life career was an accountant at Deere and Co. until his retirement. If you knew Dave, you knew his kindness, that he loved to talk to people, and that he had utter love and complete devotion to his family and friends.
