DAVENPORT-Carrie M. Young, 80, a resident of Davenport, joined our Father in Heaven, Thursday, April 8, 2021. Per her wishes, the rite of cremation was accorded.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family.

Carrie Mae Hubbard was born July 8, 1940 in Meridian, Mississippi, a daughter of Willie Sr.,and Carrie (Little) Hubbard. She was married to John L. Young. Carrie worked as an assembler at Red Jacket Pump, Davenport.

Carrie had a loving heart and a kind personality. Visiting with the sick and shut-in, transporting the elderly community to appointments and grocery stores was her way of showing Love and Kindness. She loved watching Christian programs and shopping channels. She also loved attending worship services, singing and praising the Lord.

Those left to honor Carrie's memory include her children: Janice Young McCann, Davenport; John A. Young, Maricopa, Arizona; Jason Young and Jake Young, both of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren: Julian (Chontea) Young, Marcus (Andrea) McCann, Alyssa Young, Jonathan Young, Olivia Young, Ava B. Young, J Michael Young, Jett Young, Jalen Young, Jorden Young and Jaxsen Young; great-grandchildren: MaQue'la Benton, Devontez Wells, Jahlaysia Wells-Young, Zaria Wells-Young, Aizlyn Wells-Young , Alexia Holcomb, Lakyn Smith, Jada McCann, Aniyah McCann, Marcus McCann, Jr., Demetris Young, and best friend, Emma Young, Davenport; brother, Willie "Bill" (Daisy) Hubbard Jr., Cleveland, Ohio; step-sisters: Hattie Emerson, St. Louis, Missouri and Minnie Gates, San Francisco, California. A host of loving nieces, nephews. and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Elizabeth "Liza" Hubbard and siblings Andrew Hubbard and Annie Beatrice Douglass.
