DAVENPORT-Margaret Ann (Hebert) Hoyt, 70, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in her home. All those who knew Margaret ("Peg") are heartbroken by this loss and want to share more about her life.

Peg was born in 1951 in Charles City, Iowa to Edmer and Mary Ann Hebert. She was the second of eight kids and being born into a large, loving family shaped who she was in several profound ways. She is known by her family and all those who loved her as an incredibly hardworking, loving, and kind person.

Her work ethic was instilled in her from a young age, helping in her family. She went on to study Radiology Technology at the University of Iowa. She proudly worked in her career as a Radiologic Technologist for many years. Her kindness will be remembered by many of her patients, whom she helped through difficult times in their lives. Peg also briefly ran an in-home daycare when her children were young and her love of children was obvious to everyone. She could always be counted on to go above and beyond for those whom she worked with.

She married the love of her life, Martin Hoyt, in 1978. They enjoyed hosting family and friends for gatherings, cheering their kids on through all of their many activities, and doing crossword puzzles together. They had four children together, Elijah, Gabriel, Carrie, and Tyler. In later years, she also adopted and lovingly cared for her two granddaughters, Abigale and Jalissa.

Peg's love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds and she often said that being a mother was her greatest joy in life. Whether encouraging them through all of their many activities, supporting their interests, or guiding them through life's many challenges, she was always their biggest cheerleader. She was their first shoulder to cry on and their first hug when it was time to celebrate.

The kindness that lived in Peg's heart extended to everyone she met, whether a dear friend or family member or someone she met briefly at work or elsewhere. She always looked for the good in people and was generous in supporting those who were in need. She cared deeply for those around her and strived to extend love wherever possible. A hug and a long conversation were frequent for her and many, many people were friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Hoyt, her father, Edmer Hebert, her step-father, Burdette Baldwin, her brother, Daniel Hebert, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dean and Lois Hoyt, her brothers-in-law, Gene Lytle, Steve Hoyt, and Tom Hoyt. She is remembered in love by her mother, Mary Ann Hebert-Baldwin, her children, Elijah Hoyt, Gabriel Hoyt, Carrie Kane (husband Chris), and Tyler Hoyt, her grandchildren Abigale Hoyt, Jalissa Hoyt, and Rowan Kane, her sisters Sandra Kirchhof, Jeannie Lytle, Sara Joens (husband Dennis), her brothers Steven Hebert (wife DeAnn), David Hebert (wife Mary), and Michael Hebert, many nieces and nephews, and many dearly loved friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 8:30-10:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport, Iowa. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am. Masks required. A celebration of life gathering will be held this summer in Charles City, Iowa.
