DAVENPORT-Jerry Lee Caldwell Sr., 75, of Davenport died September 1st at Unity Point Trinity.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 9th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf and will be live-streamed on the funeral home's Facebook page. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born in Davenport July 30, 1945, the son of Floyd and Patricia (O'Brien) Caldwell. On June 19, 1993, he married Kristine (Voss) Charles in Davenport.

During the Vietnam Conflict, he served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam an Infantryman and was honorably discharged in 1969. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, the Combat Infantry Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.

Jerry worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years before retiring.

In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling and was an avid fisherman.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kristine; his daughter, Shelly (Kenneth) Bushnell of Bettendorf; his sons, Jerry L. (Kim) Caldwell Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Brian Caldwell of Davenport; his grandchildren, Ashley (Nathaniel) Howard, Brooke, Zachary, Emily and Grace Jasper, Brianna Charles, Katelyn, Joseph and Nathan Blackcloud-Caldwell; seven great-grandchildren; his step-grandsons, Jacob, Joshua and Adam Bushnell; his sisters, Doreen (Steve Wilford) Maynard, Denise (Edward) Shade and Dietta (Vern) Langtimm; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Keis; his grandson, Mitchell Stradt; his sisters, Debbie Reeser and Anna Caldwell; his brother, Benny Caldwell.
