Funeral services for William W. Moffit III, 17, of LeClaire, grandson of Jack Sturdy, Tipton, who died Feb. 9 in Naval hospital, Great Lakes, Ill., were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) in McGinnis Chapel, Bettendorf, with burial in Glendale cemetery, LeClaire.

A seaman apprentice, he died of injuries suffered in an auto accident Jan. 1, in Bettendorf. He was transferred 2 weeks ago from St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, to Great Lakes.

He was born in Davenport and married the former Kathleen Gailbreath in Muscatine in 1963.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Tamara, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William W. Moffit II, LeClaire; 5 sisters: Mrs. Jorjean Frischer, LeClaire; Mrs. Judy Juehl, Rock Island, Ill.; Mrs. Jeraldine Davis, LeClaire; Mrs. Joyce Armstrong, Goldsboro, N.Car., and Julia Kay, at home; and his maternal grandfather, Jack Sturdy, Tipton.
