Obituary of Richard Raymond Quinones

Richard “Rich” Raymond Quinones, 74, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf VFW Post154. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Rich was born on January 6, 1946 to Pasqual and Innocencia (Diaz) Quinones in Moline, IL. He was employed for 24 years at Alcoa (Arconic) and worked as a quality control inspector.

Rich was known to be a lucky man. He was resourceful, mischievous, humble and funny. He found redemption in relationships throughout his life. His family meant everything to him, his grandchildren and grand-fur babies were his life. Rich loved to travel and listen to music. He had a strong appreciation and passion for dance, art, and his culture. He was an avid fan of Da’ Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and watching the best of the best UFO. The importance of education was a top priority for his children, who combined, went on to earn six masters degrees and a doctorate. Rich left behind a legacy of being kind, generous, and hardworking.

Those left to cherish his memory are children: Angela Quinones, Tony (Arasely) Quinones, MaryAnne Quinones, Jennifer (Matt) Nottingham Quinones and Melanie (Armando) Figueroa; brothers, John Quinones and Pasqual Quinones Jr.; sisters, Florence Briggs and Anita Lipes; grandchildren: Ethan Figueroa, Madeline Nottingham, Sophia Figueroa, and Max Nottingham; and his companion of 35 years, Linda Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Matthew Scott Nottingham and Pasqual Quinones; brother, Frank Quinones; sisters, Patricia Soliz, Victoria Ruiz, Mabel Quinones and Cecilia Quinones.
