Roberta M. Wright, 72, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf following a brief illness.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Menlo, Iowa. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family at the Menlo Community Building for fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House.

She was born April 5, 1939 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert & Alice (Hunter) Bentley. On April 23, 1961, she was united in marriage to Leland Wright in Gilbert, Iowa.

Roberta was a devoted wife, mom, grandma & homemaker. She enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus and in earlier years, was an avid bowler.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of over 50 years, Leland; her daughter, Kimberlee (Philip) Wingert of Coralville, Iowa; her grandchildren, Bentley Wingert of Ames, Iowa and Hunter Wingert of Coralville; her sisters, Janice (Harry) Kalbach of Menlo, Iowa and Marion (Gary) Johnson of Jewel, Iowa; and her brother, Gilbert (Charlotte) Bentley of Ames, Iowa.

Roberta was preceded in death by her infant sister, Alice Jean; and by her parents. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Thurs 09 Feb 2012.
