A funeral service for Thomas W. “Bill” Haussmann, 88, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 9, from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mr. Haussmann died Friday, Jan. 3, 2020.

Thomas Haussmann was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Des Moines, the son of Robert and Margaret (Griffin) Haussmann.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He married Joyce Teel on June 21, 1953, in Buffalo. She preceded him in death.

He retired from AT&T – Lucient in 1988, after 37 years of service.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca (John) Steiniger, DeWitt; a son, William (Barb) Haussmann, Davenport; his grandchildren, Matthew Haussmann, Corie (Shawn) Paxton, Kelly Muth, Laura (Harley) Andrews, Michael (Lea) Guldeupfeunig, Amanda Guldeupfeunig, and Garrett Niebruegge; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
