The Tri City Star of Davenport, IA Tuesday January 3, 1905
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Kane are mourning the loss of their only child, William H. Kane, Jr. who died of diphtheria at 6:30 o'clock yesterday evening. The child was 2 years old and born on Dec. 8, 1902. The child had only been sick since last Friday. Mr. Kane has many friends in the city who will be sorry to hear of the sad bereavement which has overtaken the family. The funeral was private and held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the home, 105 West Second street, with interment at Oakdale cemetery.
